The trip to Paris, from Philadelphia

I’m now all settled in my new Parisian apartment! I had some fantastic luck for the trip, with just one slight hiccup.

Upon checking my bag, the US Airways employees almost wouldn’t let me go any further unless I changed my return flight. You see, I need a visa to stay in France for more than 90 days. I’ve arrived in France on April 1st and will be leaving on the 30th of June (90 days exactly), but my flight left Philadelphia at 6:15pm on the 31st, so if someone were to count the days from the 31st, then it would be 91 days. Now, that’s Philadelphia time. Parisian time I left at 12:15am on the 1st. Anyway, a few times asking to speak with someone else and take the risk on my own finally allowed them to check my bags and let me proceed.

After that point everything went smoothly. No security hiccups, boarded the plane seamlessly and a bit early. And then I had the best luck! The flight was practically empty for most standards. I had a window seat and directly next to me was an aisle seat that was empty! So glad I didn’t purchase the first class upgrade ;)

Me inside my apartmentCustoms was easy too. They didn’t ask me any questions, just looked at my passport and handed it back. An hour later my taxi dropped me off at my perfect little street and I easily found my door and my apartment. I absolutely love it! I’ll write a whole post dedicated to the apartment and my street shortly.

Love you all!
